My Research

Researcher at the Institute for Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB), Laboratory of Multifunctional Oxides and Complex Structures (MULFOX). My research is focused on materials of interest for electronics, photonics and quantum physics.

Quantum Transport in Oxides

We investigate experimentally the transport properties of two-dimensional electron gases (2DEGs) at oxide interfaces. Our research includes 2D-superconductivity, spin-charge intercconversion and phototransport. We are starting now to investigate oxide 2DEGs interfaced with van der Waals materials.

Light-Matter Interactions in Quantum Materials

We focus on the interaction of solids with electromagnetic fields. We carry out both theoretical and experimental work, intended to explore quantum physics exploting electronic and lattice modes, coupled to electromagnetic fields. At this moment our research aims at the study of Jahn-Teller systems, but we are also interested in developing the theoretical formalism to arbitrary transition metal compounds, including (quantum) spin liquids.

Topological Photonics

At present, our theoretical work aims at investigating topological phase transitions in photonic crystals driven by external fields (magnetic and electric).
